Hi I’m looking at your auto darkening safety glasses… I work for GE aviation as a welder. ..and we are looking for a type of glasses that darken while we are not welding..

      Hi Emilio,

If you’re looking for welding glasses that stay dark whether your torch is on or not, we have them.

If you’re looking for auto-darkening lenses that darken when you’re welding and clear up when you’re not, we don’t have those.

However, your question asks whether we have glasses that darken when you’re not welding. I’ve never heard of glasses that do this, nor have I ever heard of a need for them. Is that really what you’re looking for, or am I misunderstanding? If you could elaborate on what you need and what you’re going to use it for, I could better answer your question. You can also give us a call if it’d be easier.

      Best,

I am a Welder as well, I was under the assumption transition lenses would darken in any bright light, they only work outside in the sun, I wanted them to darken when I walk through the shop, and somebody strikes a very bright weld arc, they don’t need to be dark all the time, or I can’t see to do my job! I work on graveyard shift, so the Sun exposure is no concern to me, I work indoors around very bright lights and constant Weld Arcs!
